On OnePlus community forums, one of the OnePlus 5T users has posted that his OnePlus 5T smartphone can't stream HD video content from leading video streaming platforms such as Netflix, Google Play Movies, and Amazon Prime Video. However, what remains missing on both the smartphones is a support for viewing HD videos on streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. The OnePlus 5T certainly lacks it but does come with Widevine Level 3 certification that allows SD content to be streamed.
The OnePlus 5T now supports Widevine Level 3, which only covers standard definition streams. "I am massively surprised this has not been brought up in reviews/not had a bigger fuss made about as this is completely unacceptable for a brand that is now well established!" the thread starter writes.

Prospective OnePlus 5T owner, who goes by the moniker "whatthefunk" has shed light on quite a serious defect found in both the OnePlus Android marquee phones.
A OnePlus spokesperson told us "we are now implementing the Widevine level 1 DRM", which means you should be able to take advantage of the phone's full HD display when streaming from your favorite service. There is no time frame given for this update though. However, soon after users started to complain about the issue - OnePlus did acknowledge the problem and has now promised to bring Widevine Level 1 support, not only to OnePlus 5T but also to OnePlus 5 in the future update. Apparently, this issue also extends to the OnePlus 5, which was released back in June. Not only the display, even the hardware of the base model with 6GB RAM and Snapdragon 835 is more than capable of streaming HD videos.

With just three tests remaining in the Ashes, Australia now lead 2-0 after claiming victory in Adelaide - winning by 120 runs. But the batsman, who has played four Tests and three ODIs, was out drinking on Thursday night.
While things have been good so far, it looks like there might be a small hiccup for owners of the OnePlus 5T, that comes in the form of not being able to stream in HD from services like Netflix, Amazon, and more.
