Return passengers will continue to use Thalys services from the Netherlands to connect with Eurostar in Brussels where security checks will take place, adding an extra hour to the journey.

The train will also stop at Rotterdam.

The two Amsterdam departures from London - set for 8:01 a.m. and 5:31 p.m. daily - aim to bite into the 4 million air journeys between the two cities each year. While passengers still have to change at Brussels, there are ten trains running from there to London each day.
