The report adds how iOS 12 aka "Peace" is now under development, and is set to come with a few new features. In addition to this, Apple is also working on a new iPad model which will feature the new Face ID camera. According to a report from Bloomberg, Apple's focus on squashing bugs in iOS 12 has delayed a bunch of features, including nearly anything significant for the iPad, until 2019.
That is not to say there will not be any new features for iPhone and iPad users to look forward to.

What do you think about Apple's decision to get back to perfecting their iOS software? Universal apps that work across iPhone, iPad and Mac are also set to arrive with iOS 12, according to past rumours. Now, a new report claims, there's a change in strategy. This includes a framework for third parties to develop apps that will work on iOS and macOS devices - part of what was reported on earlier by the outlet's Mark Gurman. Codenamed "Peace", the software upgrade for iPhone and iPad will be called iOS 12, keeping up with the annual running cycle. Returning to rock-solid software pays dividends for the iPhone's reputation, while minimizing the number of changes in iOS 12 should help developers get their apps up to speed more rapidly. "The renewed focus on quality is created to make sure the company can fulfill promises made each summer at the annual developers conference and that new features work reliably and as advertised", according to the report.
Apple's software engineers will be given the ability to delay features that aren't ready for the spotlight and will operate with a two-year roadmap for future iOS releases rather than being rushed into releasing as many features as possible in the upcoming update to Apple's mobile operating system.
