The woman's husband is alleged to have secretly recorded a conversation in which she claims Greitens took the compromising photo and threatened to publicize it if she spoke about the affair. The indictment said Greitens "transmitted the image contained in the photograph in a manner that allowed access to that image via a computer". On the tape, the woman said Greitens photographed her blindfolded and with her hands bound and said he would publicize the photo if she ever spoke about their relationship.
"As I have said before, I made a personal mistake before I was Governor", the statement reads.
Greitens, a married father of two young boys, has repeatedly denied blackmailing the woman.
