ZTE Announces Tempo Go Unlocked Smartphone, Priced At $80

ZTE brings premium features to its mid-range Blade line

The ZTE Blade V9 looks like every other phone, but at €269 that's just fine

The ZTE Blade V9 Vita is a standout budget phone thanks to its trendy 18:9 display that's become popular thanks to higher-end all-screen phones.

ZTE on Sunday added a pair of smartphones to its Blade portfolio of devices. Prices start at €269 (around $330) for the Blade V9 and €179 (around $220) for the Blade V9 Vita.

The Blade V9 Vita is slightly smaller at 5.4 inches, has 16GB of storage and a slower processor. It runs on Android Oreo out of the box, with support for some form of facial recognition. Both cameras on the back of these two smartphones protrude a bit, while you will notice an LED flash located next to them. The 1.1 GHz quad-core processor present inside the Snapdragon 210 chipset powers the Tempo Go along with 1 GB of RAM. Paired with this is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 clocked at 1.8 Ghz. There is a 5MP camera at the front for selfies. The device is measuring 146.8 x 68.7 x 7.6mm which is relatively low compare to the original Blade V9. The phone packs 32GB of internal storage that can be expanded. In terms of optics, the smartphone sports a combination of a 16-megapixel and a 5-megapixel sensors. Some really just want a basic communication device that happens to also bring the Internet into their pockets. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Hybrid Dual-SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5 mm audio jack, and DTS audio. ZTE's Blade series is a tier under the top-of-the-line Axon series, and as such garners somewhat of a mid-range distinction. Smartphones based on the new OS will run a totally different set of Google apps, carrying the "Go" suffix.
