ESPN+ launches April 12: Here's what you get

The $4.99-per-month service touted since November and powered by BAMTech - the technology spinoff of Major League Baseball Advanced Media for which Disney outlaid $2.58 billion for a 75-percent stake - will also be carried through a reimagined ESPN app and offer a Netflix-like aggregation of sports.

Michael Paull, president of BAMTech Media, added: "ESPN Plus will connect fans directly to sports they love wherever and whenever they want".

ESPN+ will give those that have cut the cord, access to a wide variety of different kinds of sports programming. A Disney-branded direct-to-consumer service, offering subscription video-on-demand viewing of Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm movies along with a host of exclusive content, will launch in late 2019. ESPN also promises PGA golf coverage, Grand Slam tennis matches and global sports like rugby and cricket will be part of its monthly streaming package.
