Apple rumoured to be exploring "Touchless" gestures and curved iPhone screens

Apple reportedly plans iPhones with curved screens and non-touch gesture controls

Apple Testing 'Touchless' Gestures for the iPhone

Apple is known to be the trendsetter for new technologies in the market. Air Gestures on the Galaxy S4 allowed users to browse between photos or scroll a webpage just by swiping in the air above the phone, while Air View would function much like Apple's 3D Touch, exposing additional information when you hover your finger over a trigger area. According to Bloomberg the Cupertino-based tech firm is working on touchless control and curved screen-featuring iPhone handsets. Instead of putting the sensors in the bezel, the entire screen would act as a sensor to detect finger proximity and position. However, there is no word on how these new gestures would be integrated into iOS software.

Interestingly, Apple is also working on displays that gradually curve inward from top and bottom. Air Gestures allow users to accept phone calls by waving their hands at a motion sensor housed on top of the phone; while Apple's implementation involves building the sensor into the display itself. Apple's version would require gestures to be closer to the screen than with Project Soli and the tech would be built into the display. Last year, the company has introduced its brand-new design strategy with the iPhone X. Even Apple's new iPhone X, which introduced new facial recognition technology and a almost all-screen front, failed to universally impress reviewers.

Patriots' Julian Edelman May Have Thwarted a School Shooting
Without Edelman's reaction to the alarming social media post, police said, it's likely they would not have known about the threat. Shortly after the athlete shared the image, a teenager commented: "I'm going to shoot my school up watch the news".

OLED, or organic light emitting diode, displays can be shaped into curves or even folded, unlike the less-flexible LCD screen technology used in prior iPhones. Apple as always has not made any comments on this issue, so we would have to wait to see if the report eventually turns out to be legit.
