Nigeria has fixed election for February 2019, leaving Buhari's electoral value and fate only in the hands of the voting public and in the hands of a free and fair election.

He alleged that looters and corrupt elements within and outside Nigeria had been jolted to push "panic buttons including renting a motley crowd of professional demonstrators to protest against the president on his arrival in the United Kingdom".

Mr Buhari had declared his intention to seek re-election in 2019 on Monday during a closed-door meeting with the National Executive Council of the All Progressives Congress, APC, n Abuja.

Chairman of the APC in the state Ben Nwoye told reporters on Tuesday that "One thing you can not dispute is that Nigerians love Buhari except the oppositions who are even the minority".
