DICE is testing a Battlefield battle royale mode – rumour

Battlefield V battle royale prototype in the works at DICE

We wouldn't be surprised at all to learn that Battlefield will get a battle royale mode, but if this source is to be believed, then DICE still has quite a bit of work to do in terms of figuring out exactly how such a mode will work in the final game. And what will happen to all of them when there will be too many battle royale games around?

Battlefield 5 is now in development.

It has also been rumoured that the next Halo game will feature a battle royale mode. If DICE does decide that it's happy with what it has, it won't have it ready in time for the initial release.

EA is the latest publisher hoping to insert a battle royale mode into its marquee franchise. A report says the video game company is working on a Battlefield battle royale.

According to a new report from VentureBeat, EA's DICE studio are now in the prototype stages of testing a battle royale mode for their upcoming Battlefield V, much to the surprise of no one. It's unclear how the mode will operate, but considering its Battlefield will most likely remain loyal to the class-based system that the franchise is known for and not the free-to-play system used by Epic Games. That implies the mode features 100 different players slowly fighting it out in a shrinking play area until just one is left standing.

Call of Duty, on the other hand, would have to make drastic changes to its traditional design, adding bigger maps, making gameplay adjustment, but the biggest challenge would be accepted from its community, especially, part of the community that loves Black Ops series for its story content, which is reportedly being scrapped.

Puerto Rico will have power back soon
The board also said Puerto Rico's government should cut sick leave and vacation pay by half and eliminate a Christmas bonus. Officials said restoring power to hospitals, airports, banking centers and water pumping systems was their priority.

It is unlikely that Battlefield's Battle Royale mode will bring innovation to the genre as rumors indicate the studio is investigating bringing a near identical copy to the game.

The battle royale prototype is described as similar in structure to both Fortnite Battle Royale and its predecessor, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds.
