Missouri Governor Greitens charged with felony tampering with computer data

Clarie McCaskill and her GOP opponent, Attorney General Josh Hawley - have called on Greitens to resign from office.

Greitens told a person to give a donor list from The Mission Continues, a charity founded by Greitens, to a political fundraiser working for Greitens' campaign for governor.

That charge is for invasion of privacy for allegedly taking a partially or fully nude photo and "subsequently transmitted the image contained in the photograph in a manner that allowed access to that image via a computer".

Greitens has faced increasing pressure to resign. However, his timing in turning over the case drew pushback from some Democrats, who noted that the Associated Press first broke the news that Greitens had obtained the Mission Continues donor list in 2016. She testified that Greitens controlled, slapped, grabbed, shoved and endangered during a set of sexual encounters that times left her fearful and crying.

This action helps distance him from the governor and minimize the political damage Greitens is creating. And she is using thousands and thousands of taxpayer dollars to do all of this.

Prosecutors did not say whether anyone else faced charges in the investigation.

Trump opposes USA rejoining Pacific trade deal
President Trump's flirtation with the Trans-Pacific Partnership free trade deal lasted one week. The partnership originally involved the US when it was created in February of 2016.

Earlier this week, Josh Hawley, the attorney general of Missouri and a Republican, said that he believed there was evidence that Mr. Greitens had committed a felony in obtaining the list.

A probable cause statement released by Gardner's office Friday states that Greitens knew the list was taken without the charity's permission. It doesn't identify the fundraiser.

Greitens released a statement Friday night attacking Gardner, contending that the new charges come after Gardner mishandled the other prosecution.

Eric Greitens ran for governor of Missouri as a conservative outsider promising to shake things up in the Show Me State.

Missouri Republicans are anxious that a recent sex scandal involving Gov. Eric Greitens will drag their party down. "Since he will not resign, the House of Representatives must immediately begin impeachment proceedings". The Office stands ready to assist the Circuit Attorney's Office where appropriate and if needed. But that incident wasn't cited in the criminal charge, because it was past the three-year statute of limitations. That committee also plans to release findings concerning Greitens' campaign's use of the Mission Continues list. The campaign amended its finance reports to show a $600 in-kind donation received byrom former campaign manager Danny Laub.

Israel 'Struck Advanced Iranian Air-defense System' in Syria
It took 11 years for them to admit they destroyed the Syrian nuclear reactor just before it would have gone operational in 2007. Tehran could use its terror proxies overseas to carry out an attack that would not directly bear Iranian fingerprints.

His attorney, Ed Dowd, said in a separate statement: "This charge makes no sense at all". It was her decision to charge Greitens.

"This prosecutor can come after me with everything she's got, but as all faithful people know: in time comes the truth". His attorneys, in court hearings and filings, have painted a picture of an incompetent prosecutor who rather than working with police to investigate Greitens hired a private investigator who bungled the probe, hid evidence and lied to the court.

Adding to the governor's political headaches is an ongoing investigation by a Missouri House committee. That trial is set to start May 14.

Hawley said Tuesday there is no evidence of wrongdoing by the charity, only Greitens.

In the Legislature, meanwhile, Senate leaders are considering holding off on sending bills to Greitens amid the multiple investigations. No final rulings have been made.
