Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has extended his well wishes to Manchester United's legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who was left fighting for his life following emergency surgery for a brain haemorrhage.

"I hope he is in good hands and I hope the operation is a major success because as a personal friend I hope he has a full recovery".

"When I heard the news yesterday I really couldn't believe this could happen".
