City players celebrate their title win

City set a Premier League points and goals record even if last night's win over Brighton felt more like a testimonial than a top-flight game.

City reached 97 points, two more than Chelsea's total from the 2004-05 season, and 105 goals, two more than Chelsea's previous record haul from the 2009-10 season.

Pep Guardiola's team last month sealed the title with five matches to spare and are now a whopping 20 points ahead of nearest challengers Manchester United.

City boss Guardiola said: "97 points, a lot of goals, a lot of wins - that's a effect of the season we have done".
