Pismo Pier Annual Memorial Day Ceremony: Dozens are expected to attend the event which at 11 a.m. Speakers and music will pay tribute to those lost in battle. The goal of this event is to remember and honor the sacrifice and commitment to freedom of fallen venters by placing small American Flags on each grave site. The parade begins at 10 a.m.at the corner of Lee and Cortland streets. The national anthem will be performed by Tim Rehmer, commander of St. George American Legion Post 1164.
6 p.m. - The Great Scot Parade returns to downtown Greenville to kick off the annual Scottish Games. The VFW in Greensburg annually honors area veterans during the service at the main entrance of the cemetery along Route 136 South. Each year, members of Rolling Thunder gather on Memorial Plaza with members of the Navy Memorial to recognize American veterans and honor service members classified as POWs or MIA. A service will take place at the Veterans' Memorial on the east end of the cemetery immediately after the procession.
The Wadena Legion Post 631 will conduct a Memorial Day service Monday May 28, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the All Veterans Memorial by the Legion Hall.
The names of all veterans who have died within the previous year will be read during the ceremony.

In keeping with its longstanding tradition of designating a local veteran as Honorary Grand Marshal of the Memorial Day Parade, the Lockport Parade Committee has selected Evertt Fitchlee as this year's honoree. The course includes a runway at the airport and will help raise money to further enhance the Greenville Downtown Airport's Community Corridor, which includes Runway Park.
Bishop McNamara High School will replant the Ryan Beaupre Memorial Tree at 8:30 a.m. Monday before the start of the annual Ken Klipp Classic 5K run.
