Flash floods take their toll again on Ellicott City, Maryland

Significant flash flooding has led to several water rescues.

The National Weather Service warned: "This is an extremely risky and potentially catastrophic situation".

Some residents told the Sun that the flood seemed to be more intense than the one that hit Ellicott City in July 2016, leaving two people dead and many downtown businesses destroyed. He said some of the areas repaired after the 2016 devastation withstood Sunday's flood waters.
