The Nabil Fekir transfer saga appears to be drawing to a close as the Lyon attacking midfielder is now closer than ever to completing his move to Liverpool.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has ruled out finding a resolution before the World Cup begins, though, saying the deal is at a "standstill". The two clubs have agreed a transfer fee of 65 million euros plus 7 million in add-ons.

The Lyon captain has informed his boyhood club of his preference for Anfield and the deal is expected to be finalised before the 24-year-old heads to the World Cup.
