Fernando Hierro only took charge two days before the World Cup started

Hierro took over two days before Spain's opening game after Julen Lopetegui was sacked for agreeing to take over at Real Madrid after the tournament.

All these off-field dramas derailed Spain's bid to progress at the World Cup, with the nation crashing out in the Round-of-16 stage to hosts Russian Federation.

Hierro, 50, has chose to "seek new horizons", according to the Spanish football federation (RFEF).

Mrs May sent her "thoughts and condolences" and said officials are "working urgently to establish the facts". Prime Minister Theresa May said police were still hard at work investigating the source of the nerve agent.

Luis Enrique previously coached FC Barcelona, where he won the treble in 2014-15, as well as playing 62 times for Spain, which included appearances at three World Cups (1994, 1998 and 2002).

He has been out of work since leaving Barça last summer but has since been linked with Chelsea and Arsenal before Unai Emery filled the vacancy left by Arsène Wenger.

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have scheduled a news conference on Monday to announce changes to the organisation's structure.

The secretary of state asserted that the Taliban understands USA resolve and is "beginning to see that they can not wait us out". On New Year's Day, a USA soldier was killed and four others wounded in combat operations in the eastern province of Nangarhar.

Spain's interim coach Fernando Hierro has cut his ties with the Spanish Football Federation following the team's disastrous exit from the World Cup last week, the organisation said on Sunday. He also won Olympic gold in 1992. "His mission will be to return Spain to the place where [Luis] Aragones and [Vicente] Del Bosque had taken it".

The president of the federation, Luis Rubiales, added: "We have not spoken to anybody else - only Luis Enrique".

Rubiales also appointed former La Roja and Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper Jose Francisco Molina as Spain's new sporting director.

Pettis (21-7) staggered his larger opponent with a right hand before winning for just the third time in eight fights since 2014. If that is the case, then he would be eligible to fight at the UFC show in late December and not in November at MSG.

According a UK Sun report, the Real Madrid legend who took over the position just before the ongoing world Cup in Russian Federation, has also distanced himself from his former job as sports director.
