ABC fired Barr in late May for the Jarrett tweet.

Barr clarified to Hannity that she saw the tweet as political, not racial, adding "I will always defend Israel".

Speaking in her first national television interview since the scandal, Barr told Fox News' Sean Hannity that she was "so sad that people thought" her tweets about Valerie Jarrett were "racist". "I made a mistake and I paid the price for it", Barr told Hannity. She said the tweet referencing former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett - "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby = vj" - was a bid to seek accountability for the 2015 worldwide agreement limiting Iran's nuclear program.

Later in the interview, Hannity asked Barr to address Jarrett directly. In canceling the show, the network - which is part of the Walt Disney Co. - issued a statement calling it "abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values".

She explained: "It cost me everything".

Maddow doesn't relent on White House transcript
That footage is then contrasted with what the White House posted, which omits the first part of Mason's question. Critics accused Mr Trump of siding with Russian Federation over his own country by failing to so.

'I've apologised a lot, ' Barr said.

'I think people in America are very forgiving, and I think if you put 30 years of what I've accomplished. and you put it on a scale.

Barr also gave other explanations for her tweet, saying she had taken the sleep aid Ambien, drunk two beers and was taking antidepressant medication on the night she posted on the social media network two months ago.

She added that her contract with ABC protected her from any mistakes she were to possibly make.

"That is a tweet about asking for accountability from the previous administration about the Iran deal, which Valerie Jarrett is the author of", Roseanne said.

China to invest $14b in South Africa
South Africa being part of crafting a new direction can only be positive if it is handled correctly by the government. Chinese President Xi Jinping raised his concerns as the three-day summit began in South Africa.

Prompted multiple times by Hannity, Barr again tried to apologize for the tweet directly to Jarrett into the camera, then for some reason, finished up by telling her she could use a new haircut.

This is a developing story.

"Could you do your job?" she asked Hannity. "That's what made people like the Roseanne show - because they saw themselves in [me], or have an aunt, or their mom or their sister, somebody in their family was, you know, a loud, outspoken woman who loved her family". The comic also claimed a recent video she released on YouTube, saying of Jarrett, "I thought the b**** was white", was a joke.

What would Barr say if she reached Jarrett by phone? The comedian also sat down for an interview with her longtime friend, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach, at a New York City comedy club and stressed that the tweet was political and not racist. And I'm sorry that you feel harmed and hurt.

ABC has since confirmed it will broadcast a spin-off called "The Connors" - featuring cast members including John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf - after Barr relinquished any creative or financial involvement.
