Man Utd transfer news Barcelona will give Paul Pogba Andres Iniesta's old number

It appears they won't be doing anything by half-measures as Barça's dream is to reunite a midfield duo which was formed at Juventus: Vidal and Paul Pogba.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Barca have offered €50 million for the Frenchman, plus centreback Yerry Mina and midfielder Andre Gomes.

He had his problems with Mourinho previous year, being dropped to the bench for a number of games, but he remains integral in the spine of United and, after a great World Cup campaign - individually and with his team - Pogba's stock and his influence have only risen.

Although Mourinho would consider letting Pogba leave - and already has his eye on Miralem Pjanic as a replacement - United's hierarchy are adamant he's going nowhere and will resist any further offers from Barcelona and Juventus.

United States media then reported that the USA president had been involved in the initial statement his son issued on the meeting. This was a meeting to get information on an opponent, totally legal and done all the time in politics - and it went nowhere .

Pogba was inconsistent last season and was even dropped by the United boss for a spell in the second half of the season.

Instead of praising Pogba's performances, Mourinho urged him to "understand" why he had done so well in Russian Federation and appeared to suggest the player lacked the same focus for his club.

Pogba's agent, Mino Raiola, is now in Manchester in a bid to push the complicated operation forward.

It's not a great time to be a Manchester United fan as manager Jose Mourinho has been causing some kind of irritation and uneasiness at the club.
