Sure, the notch on the iPhone X might be wider, but the one on the Pixel 3 XL is nearly 2x more deep which makes it look pretty awkward. It's so large that it stretches out the status bar, making it thicker than normal, just like the Essential phone. The notch on the Pixel 3 XL does look slightly better on these pictures, though it's still slightly bigger than what we have seen on the iPhone X, and much bigger than the one on the Essential Phone.
Google released Android Pie on Monday, and we know that the new version of the OS supports phones with notches. Surprisingly, Google is including a pair of USB Type-C headphones with a Pixel Buds-like design. There seems to be a plastic box in the middle of the headphone cord, which might be for an in-line remote.
The addition would be noteworthy; finding USB-C headphones isn't exactly easy, as competing audio standards have made it hard for manufacturers to support devices with USB-C ports in lieu of 3.5mm headphone jacks. It isn't clear if Google will release this in Malaysia so you'll probably need to turn to grey importers if you're interested.
