Ex-Trump aide releases recording of $15,000 job offer to "buy silence"

Trump Organization accuses Omarosa's book...

In the recordings, Lara Trump made it unequivocally clear that if Omarosa came back on board with the Trump team on the 2020 re-election campaign, she'd have to swear silence on all she heard and witnessed about Trump in the past.

But according to a new report, Manigault Newman's treasure trove of damaging materials on the Trump administration is not limited to secret recordings. California libel lawyer Charles Harder, who represented Hulk Hogan in his successful privacy lawsuit against Gawker, signed the August 13 letter to Simon & Schuster. Details from the book began pouring out even before it was released Tuesday.

In a written response Thursday, Lara Trump said her entire family was concerned for Manigault Newman after she was sacked "because we had no idea about the basis for her dismissal", but "we still wanted her on our team because we cared so much about her personally".

Oil holds gain as Iran concerns counter bearish U.S. rigs report
The EIA reported that at 414.2 million barrels, USA crude oil inventories are a bit above the five-year average for the season. This was said to be due to weaker-than-expected oil demand data from Latin America and the Middle East in the second quarter.

Trump has also lashed out at Manigault Newman, calling her a "lowlife", "wacky and deranged" and a "dog".

The letter advises Simon & Schuster that the Trump Organization will have claims against the publisher if it publishes the book, including claims for tortious interference with the confidentiality agreement and inducement of Manigault Newman to breach the agreement. "Sounds like she is writing a script for a movie".

The publisher responded with a return letter pointing out that any such private NDA can't be used to censor a former government official from speaking out about non-classified matters.
