Twitter Permanently Bans Alex Jones, Infowars Day After Congressional Testimony

Marco Rubio Calls Alex Jones a Clown: ‘Don’t Touch Me Again!’

Marco Rubio calls Alex Jones a 'clown' during heated exchange on Capitol Hill

Both accounts show "account suspended" messages, so the tweets and videos that violated Twitter's policy are no longer available.

Last month, Twitter gave Jones a small punishment for his inflammatory behavior on the platform-a one-week suspension that prevented Jones from tweeting or retweeting from his personal account. But Twitter did not ban him from its platform then, even after YouTube, Apple and Facebook each kicked him off. Twitter says Jones posted a video on Wednesday that is in violation of the company's policy against "abusive behavior".

The video in question showed Jones shouting at and berating CNN journalist Oliver Darcy for some 10 minutes in between two congressional hearings focused on social media.

"You want me to get arrested", Jones claimed.

At one point, he said Darcy was "smiling like a possum that crawled out of the rear end of a dead cow".

Former Republican Sen. Kyl to replace McCain, bolstering conservatives
Ducey said he received an abundance of advice on the appointment - much of it unsolicited, the governor joked. There, he served as Senate Minority Whip, the second-highest ranking position in the Republican conference.

Jones had about 900,000 followers on Twitter.

It came at the conclusion of a Senate Intelligence Committee hearing at which Dorsey and Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg testified in a largely collegial atmosphere where the executives and senators spoke of the need for further efforts to thwart foreign influence campaigns on social media.

Jones also hurled other attacks at Rubio, including calling the Florida senator a "little frat boy", "snake-like" and a "gangster thug".

"Hey, don't touch me again, man", Rubio said to Jones.

After attempting to answer a few more questions over Jones' continued commentary, Rubio, who sits on the Senate panel, told reporters "you guys can talk to this clown", before walking off.

Jose Mourinho coping well with the pressure, says Nemanja Matic
Given the delicate political situation at Old Trafford, the afternoon was as notable for events off the field as on it. Mourinho ended the game going close up to United's traveling support to show his appreciation for their backing.

Jones specifically accused Darcy of "lobbying to get media taken down", "lobbying to shut people down", and "asking people why they aren't shut down".

In August, Twitter said Jones had violated its rules at least seven times, but it stopped short of banning him outright from the platform.

Hopefully, we'll begin to see a positive change in the way Twitter keeps users safe, and that Jones will continue to have his platform chipped away until he fades into the void.

Twitter's first punishment was minor compared to the repercussions that Jones and InfoWars faced from other tech companies just days before.

There is no reliable evidence to support Jones' charge.
