In a Wednesday blog post, Google said it plans to shut down the email product at the end of March 2019 "to focus exclusively on Gmail". One Inbox feature that I use extensively - grouped emails - isn't yet in Gmail and there is no word as to when, or if, it will be coming to Gmail. Google did no longer stammer why it used to be shutting down Inbox, which used to be launched in 2014 and pitched as a more nimble and experimental email app than the older Gmail app. But have seen a lot of features from Inbox trickling down to Gmail, making the primary app even more competent and feature packed.
