‘Fake news’: Ronaldo dismisses rape claims as lawyers set to sue German magazine

Cristiano Ronaldo has dismissed as "fake news" accusations by a United States woman who alleges she was raped by the Portuguese footballer in 2009.

Another of the reasons Mayorga came forward is that she is curious to discover if others had been allegedly sexually assaulted by Ronaldo and if they, too, will be inspired to come forward.

Der Spiegel reported that their staff saw a copy of the documents, in which he initially admitted: 'She said no and stop several times.' In later versions of the story, Ronaldo claimed their sexual encounter was consensual.

That night, the lawsuit alleges, Ronaldo asked the woman to perform a sexual act on him in a bathroom as she was changing into attire to wear in a hot tub.

Ronaldo denied the allegations on Instagram Live on Sunday, calling them, "fake news".

"They want to be famous, to say my name", Ronaldo said. "The reason why I signed the contract in the first place [was] because I didn't want my name out there". Yeah but it's part of the job.

"I'm a happy man and all good".

Ronaldo has yet to publicly respond this time. Mayorga also revealed the protracted legal process by which she subsequently agreed to settle the claims. "I wanted him to deal with it, to have to face me", she said.

But now, according to a complaint filed in Clark County, Nevada, she claims Ronaldo and his lawyers, "knowing that the plaintiff was a "vulnerable" person", threatened to accuse her of consenting to sexual intercourse to accuse him of sexual assault and to obtain money.

"A medical exam was conducted".

Typhoon Trami hits Japan... millions urged to evacuate
It also suspended all commuter trains in the Kyoto, Osaka and Kobe areas by noon, according to its website. Osaka's Kansai International Airport , which was flooded by a typhoon last month, . has shut its runways.

Mayorga described mediation "as re-experiencing the sexual assault", an ordeal marked by "extreme fearfulness, complete helplessness and eventually a sense of passivity where she would do anything just to be able to leave/escape/avoid revisiting the sexual assault by continuing the mediation", the lawsuit says.

Der Spiegel alleged he raped someone previous year as well but a rep for Ronaldo denied it vehemently.

Ronaldo has vehemently denied all the allegations.

This week, however, the woman has identified herself as Kathryn Mayorga to the publication, and shared her detailed account of the assault with the publication.

The report added that Ronaldo's team would be pursuing "moral damages in an amount corresponding to the gravity of the infringement, which is probably one of the most serious violations of personal rights in recent years". He has been named world player of the year five times.
